There’s a lot to love about Mirleft and its surrounding coastline - uncrowded beaches, spectacular rock formations and a unique history under Spanish colonial rule. If the bustling beach resort vibes of Agadir aren’t quite your scene, then the relaxed ambiance of Morocco’s southern beaches and this surfer haven might be the answer.
It’s easy to reach Mirleft as a day trip from Agadir (it's two hours by car) but I would highly recommend spending a night or few. The coastline here is undeniably beautiful and there’s a laid-back charm about Mirleft - the term "hidden gem" is often thrown about when describing it. Plus, there are some wonderful places to stay in Mirleft, whether you’re after an affordable guesthouse in the heart of the town or a luxury coastal retreat nearby.
Watched over by a crumbling old fort, Mirleft tumbles down a hillside in the southern province of Sidi Ifni where it meets the coastline-sculpting waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Aside from the town itself, there are a few residential clusters along its coastal beaches where you'll find holiday apartments and accommodation to suit all budgets.
In this article, I'll share 8 of the best hotels in Mirleft, including family-friendly villas, affordable dars and sustainable retreats. Some can easily be accessed from the CTM bus stop if you’re travelling by public transport while others will require you to have your own wheels.
