Looking for the best tours in Agadir? Explore this curated collection of experiences, including everything from sandboarding to jeep safaris and guided foodie tours.

Positioned on Morocco's Atlantic coastline lies the coastal city of Agadir, a place that’s dear to my heart as home to my extended family. I've spent a lot of time in the Agadir area over the years and it's a city that has definitely grown on me.

Though much of Agadir's historic medina was devastated by a catastrophic earthquake in 1960, the city has risen from the rubble and now blends traditional neighbourhoods with the amenities and luxuries of a modern beach resort.

Considered the cultural capital of Morocco's indigenous Amazigh people, Agadir is one of the only cities in the country where the Tamazight language is spoken by a majority of locals. For that reason alone is worth a visit!

But most tourists flock here for the sun-drenched beaches, colourful souks and proximity to some of Morocco’s best surf breaks. Whether you want to discover Agadir’s ancient kasbah, ride a quad bike through the desert surroundings or swim in the enchanting pools of Paradise Valley, there are incredible Agadir tours waiting for you.

In this article, discover 9 of the best tours from Agadir, including overnight desert trips, guided food experiences and a traditional hammam.

Best Agadir half-day tour

Discover the historic treasures of Agadir on this half-day tour, which combines a guided walk through a 16th-century kasbah with a visit to the recreated medina and a scenic cable car ride.

It all begins with a pickup from your Agadir hotel before driving passed the modern marina to the cable car station. From here, you will ride up to the hilltop ruins of Agadir Oufellah to enjoy sweeping views over the port below. As you marvel at the crumbling clay walls and imagine life here centuries ago, your guide will explain how this 16th-century fortress was once home to the Saadian dynasty.

After descending, you'll head to Coco Polizzi, which recreates Agadir's pre-earthquake medina. It's a wonderful place to gain an insight into Amazigh architectural traditions while browsing traditional handicrafts and watching artisans at work. This guided tour of Agadir also includes a stop outside the Mohamed V Mosque and time to shop at the Kasbat Souss market.

With its mix of scenic vistas, ancient history and cultural immersion, I think this half-day tour provides a well-rounded introduction to Agadir's storied past.

“Momo was a wonderful tour guide and very knowledgeable... We ended the day at a smaller artisanal market which had tasty food and great shopping with the best prices.” - Paige (read more reviews here)

Best Paradise Valley day trip from Agadir

Nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains is Paradise Valley, a picturesque river gorge where city dwellers come to escape on weekends. Despite being only an hour’s drive from Agadir, Paradise Valley feels worlds away with its tranquil mountain setting and natural beauty.

This guided tour from Agadir begins with a hotel pickup before the picturesque drive to Paradise Valley. As you wind along the mountain roads, you'll catch glimpses of tiny Amazigh villages and terraced farmland along the way.

Paradise Valley follows the course of a sparkling river fed by small waterfalls cascading down the cliff sides. Led by a local guide, you’ll embark on a peaceful hike along the river's edge, stopping to observe the unique flora that thrives in this arid climate. The hike culminates at a series of natural rock pools, perfect for taking a refreshing dip on a hot, summer's day.

Before returning to Agadir, you'll have a chance to wander through an authentic Amazigh village, observing the traditional way of life that has endured in these mountains for centuries.

As the sun sets over the rippling sands, join your nomad hosts for a traditional meal and music by the campfire. You'll sleep in a fully-furnished Amazigh tent under a blanket of stars, then awake at dawn to admire the shifting hues of the desert at sunrise.
